An Update on Fire & Fragrance

Dear friends,

We wanted to share an exciting update about a significant step forward for the Fire & Fragrance movement.

(Importent Change for Canadian supporters below)

For many years,

Fire & Fragrance has operated as a ministry within Youth With A Mission (YWAM). After much prayer, conversation, and discernment, Fire & Fragrance was blessed and released from YWAM and has now become an independent global missions movement.

While the organizational structure has changed, the heart and calling of Fire and Fragrance have not!

Our vision remains to awaken a generation to wholehearted love for Jesus, to build prayer and worship, to disciple young people, to strengthen the global Church and to send pioneers to the least-reached peoples of the earth.

We continue to believe that lasting spiritual awakening comes through lives deeply devoted to Christ and surrendered to His mission.

We exist to awaken, form, and send missionaries who live in deep devotion to Jesus and labor for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

But what has changed?

  1. Moving forward, Fire and Fragrance will be working to see a global missions ecosystem develop through training hubs and frontier ministry “spokes” to catalyze indigenous movements around the world.

  2. We are strengthening how we train and disciple missionaries, deepening our commitment to long-term spiritual formation, and integrating church planting into the heart of our mission.

  3. One of the biggest developments has been the establishment of a leadership structure designed to provide both freedom and accountability. Rather than relying on centralized control, Fire & Fragrance is led through interconnected relationships between local communities, regional leaders, an external advisory team, and a global leadership team.

These changes are helping us steward the movement with greater clarity while preserving the relational culture that has always characterized Fire & Fragrance.

What happens next?

Here in Albania, our day-to-day ministry continues much as it has before. We are still gathering weekly with local Albanians to study God’s Word, disciple people one-on-one, and spend time in prayer and worship together.

One of the exciting directions Fire & Fragrance is embracing globally is a greater emphasis on church planting.

As we prayerfully discern what that looks like in the Albanian context, we would greatly appreciate your prayers. Church relationships here can be complex, and we want to move forward with wisdom, humility, and a heart to serve and strengthen the wider Body of Christ.

IMPORTANT CHANGE for our Canadian supporters

As Fire & Fragrance is now its own registered non-profit organization, we can no longer receive our Canadian donations through YWAM Vancouver.

We are currently establishing a new giving platform through The Great Commission Foundation, where your financial support will continue to be tax-deductible.

In the coming weeks, you will receive an email from Charitable Impact with simple instructions on how to make the switch. If your current donations are set to Anonymous, however, we won’t be able to identify you during the transition. If this applies to you, please get in touch with us so that we can help you set up your new giving account. We have a three-month transition period to move all recurring support to this new platform (by September).

Thank you for faithfully partnering with us over the years. Your prayers, encouragement, and generosity have enabled us to serve God beyond our wildest dreams and take the Gospel to those who have never heard the name of Jesus. We are deeply grateful for your continued partnership as we step into this exciting new season and look forward to all that God has ahead for Fire & Fragrance and the part we have to play in it.
