We moved to Albania!

In our last update, we shared that we would be visiting the mission’s community in Albania, taking the time to pray about our future in missions and to build our support team. But very soon after we arrived in Albania, it became clear to us that it was more that “just a visit”.

After praying and seeking counsel from family and leaders, we decided to make Albania our home for the foreseeable future where we can have stability to start our marriage and life in missions. We felt excited to have somewhere to call our home, and to start our mission together in a country that is still largely unreached!

Very shortly after we decided to stay, the Lord opened up an apartment for us, and we began working on the long term visa paperwork. We are currently in a neighboring country, Kosovo, waiting for our year-long residency permits.

We will be working with Fire and Fragrance Albania in Tirana, and we will continue to work with Bible engagement, prayer and worship, and creating faith-and-gospel engagement through media.

Liam

Liam is working on a media campaign for FF Albania for a large gathering called The Send. The Send is a global movement aimed at sharing the Gospel and activating the local church in participating in the Great Commission, and this year is it partnering with a yearly gathering that our team has called Momemtum.

Liam officially launched his media ministry called Missions Explained. Missions Explained will explore revival history, reformation stories in different nations, and stories of believers and missionaries that are using uncommon things to advance God’s Kingdom.

Robin

Once we return to Albania, Robin will continue to work on Bible engagement in the local community, and in prayer and worship. This looks like Bible teachings in small groups with local believers, and inspiring a love for the Bible to see engagement spread throughout Albania.

Robin will also serve in the area of prayer and worship, leading worship at various weekly gatherings, and working towards establishing a house of prayer in Tirana. We believe that young Albanians have a calling for missions in the nations, and that they will receive this calling and be sent out from a place of prayer and worship.

Working out our salvation

In praying about how we want to improve our update letters, we felt to include more for you, our partner. We want you to feel provoked to action as we are while we are “working out our salvation” (Philippians 2:12).

Every newsletter, we want to share something we were challenged in, something we learned from the Bible, or a testimony of obedience, and challenge you to the same.

From us:

While waiting in Kosovo for our Albanian visa, we joined a small local church for their weekly meeting and we were reading through the whole book of Hebrews as a church. Some key takeaways for us during this reading, was that God will take us through times of disciplines because He loves us, and although no discipline is pleasant at the time, we have Jesus, the forerunner of our faith, who showed us submission and obedience to God, even to the point of death. And this gives us a great hope and courage to persevere through times of discipline.

Challenge to you: Read through Hebrews 11-13 during this next month, and ask God if there are areas of your life where He wants to teach you discipline, knowing it is for your good.

  We have been waiting in Kosovo for over a month, and we are eager to get back to our new home.

• For wisdom and favor as we build our financial partnership team.

  Our life in Albania requires a higher monthly financial need, and we have not been able to raise it to that requirement. Please pray for open and willing hearts for the people we are connecting with to join our team, and that we will rest in God providing for our every need.

• The Send Albania will happen on the 2nd of May.

  Please pray with us that God will provide everything we need for this event - budget, worship teams, and mostly the Albanians that are HUNGRY and READY for a move of God in this nation.
